Guarantee claims

Some of our products come with a guarantee from the company that makes them, such as a 15-year anti-rot guarantee on pressure-treated timber. Where a product page shows one, the guarantee is the maker's, on the maker's terms, and we'll handle a claim under it for you.

What the maker's guarantee covers

The maker decides what its guarantee covers, for how long and on what conditions. Many timber guarantees ask for the wood to be re-treated at set times, or for the building to stand on a proper base. We show the maker's guarantee as the maker states it, and we'll send you the maker's full terms whenever you ask.

How to claim

Email hello@yardandfield.co.uk with your order number, a short description of the problem and photos of it. We pass the claim to the maker, follow it up and tell you the outcome. If the maker needs more information or wants to inspect the product, we'll arrange it with you.

Your legal rights

Your legal rights are against us, as the seller, whatever the maker's guarantee says. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and you can claim a repair, replacement or refund from us if they aren't. The maker's guarantee is in addition to these rights and doesn't affect them. See our returns page for faulty goods.
